Authors Announced for 2nd Annual Northern Ontario Book Fair

The Silverleaf Writers Guild is proud to announce the line-up of authors who will be present at the 2nd Annual Northern Ontario Book Fair which will take place at Roberta Bondar Park in Sault Ste. Marie from August 10-12, 2018. The Northern Ontario Book Fair is an annual event organized by the Silverleaf Writers Guild that gives regional authors a chance to showcase their talents and sell their books.

The guild received dozens of applications from authors all across the region, but due to space and time limitations, only nine feature spots were available. The organizing committee considered many factors, with the ultimate goal of gathering the most diverse group of stories and authors possible.

The exact times and dates of each author’s book signing will be released at a future date.

Other authors who were shortlisted and whose books will be available for purchase at the fair are:

  • Sabrina Cartwright, a fantasy fiction author from Sault Ste. Marie
  • Gloria Jean Hansen, a poet and short story writer from Elliot Lake
  • David M. Kelly, a science fiction author from Sudbury
  • Gail Gernat, a multi-genre author from Matheson
  • Liisa Koval, a memoir author from Sudbury
  • Kim Love, a humour writer from Sault Ste. Marie
  • Kathy MacDermid, a picture book author from Sault Ste. Marie
  • Peggy Smith, a contemporary fiction author from Sunridge

In addition, visitors will be able to buy books authored by writers from all over Northern Ontario. Authors who were either born in or currently reside in Northern Ontario are invited to contact the Silverleaf Writers Guild to find out how they can sell their books at the fair.

The Silverleaf Writers Guild is also seeking sponsors to help cover the costs of this event.
