New guild chapter established in Tri-Town

The Silverleaf Writers Guild is happy to announce that a new guild chapter has been established in Tri-Town, serving the communities of Cobalt, Temiskaming Shores, and surrounding townships. Guild Gatherings will be held regularly on the first Saturday of every month at the Haileybury Branch Library*. The first monthly meeting will take place December 7, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

This new chapter comes on the heals of the guild’s 3rd Annual Northern Ontario Book Fair, which took place September 2019 in Cobalt. One of the participating authors at the book fair, Jessica Goodwin (aka J.W. Goodwin), saw the need for a local writing group and volunteered to champion the new chapter.

The Silverleaf Writers Guild is a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers. The Board of Directors would like to thank Jessica for agreeing to be our local champion. Jessica’s commitment to local writers takes us one step closer to realizing our vision of ensuring that Northern Ontario no writer is without the supports they need to thrive.

Jessica Goodwin can be reached directly via call or text at 705-622-2683, or you can email the guild your questions at silverleafwriters@gmail.com.

*PLEASE NOTE: The Haileybury Branch library is amalgamating with the Temiskaming Shores Library at the new location. The intended move date is Spring 2020. Please stay tuned for a change in location.
